Focke-Wulf Fw.190A-1/2/3
The Fw.190A-1 production version began leaving the
assembly line in Bremen and Hamburg late in 1940. This aircraft was a big shock
to the RAF as it could out-perform all current versions of the Spitfire - the
best RAF fighter at the time. It had a very quick roll rate which gave it a big
advantage in combat. It was powered by the BMW 801C engine with 1600hp and
carried 4 x 7.92mm machine guns. This armament was inadequate and upgraded to 2
x MG FF 20mm cannons in place of the inboard wing machine guns in the A-2
version. The A-3 version carried 2 x MG FF 20mm cannons in the outboard and 2 x
MG 151 20mm cannons in the inboard wing position. All versions had the 2 x
7.92mm machine guns over the engine. Top speed was around 390 mph.
You can make of the 3 versions mentioned above.
