Kitlinx Newsletter - July 10, 2020

Your Feedback:

I was going to ask if the Loic who sent me an email was the the same from Greatmodels. Glad to be doing business with you again. Greatmodels was a fantastic company to deal with and the same service is here at kitlinx. I'll be doing all my hobby shopping here now that I know who I am dealing with

Harris from Pennsylvania just earned $5 credit!

I was able to get what I was looking for.  The ordering and payment process was straight forward. Plus their prices are very competitive and sometimes lower. I will use Kitlinx in the future for my modeling needs

Roy from Wyoming just earned $5 credit!

Kitlinx-2 upgrade

We have two last items to work on before Kitlinx2 is launched, and we are "battling" our programmers to GET IT RIGHT

  • Inventory count down - due to our access to 68,000 products OUTSIDE our own inventory, we request that the program counts down for "in stock" items, and THEN allows the customer to still buy the product when the inventory is "0" (if the product is available at a supplier). Software of shopping carts are NOT liking this logic... Some of you got frustrated this week when the warning "Not enough in stock, blah blah blah..." came up on your screen
  • Qty Ordered = Qty Received - will be the last stand before Kitlinx2 release. This is the way Kitlinx works automatically. When the computer calculates that the SUM OF ALL products ordered are equal to SUM OF ALL products received, then your order SHIPS! (excluding Pre-Orders). It seems simple, but again, shopping carts are not programmed for this other logic

In addition to the above "headache", our shipping software failed on Friday afternoon (connection failure to the postage server). We have about 60 orders that will be shipped on Monday morning.

Rare Collections!

We have added a NEW "Field" in the Shop Left Directories! It's "COLLECTIONS"

Most of the kit collection has been selling since last week. About 200 more kits will appear shortly, mostly Eduard

We have acquired about 1,500 books. About 500 are already added to our inventory since yesterday, and half are "out of print". Some of them very rare! (including the rare Monogram Publication/Kookabura series on Luftwaffe Camouflage & Markings - Loic paid $500 for his copies about 15 years ago!)

We have entered so far:

We also have access to about 500 books in the German language! Below are some picture of the collection. Most of these books are not translated in English and full of pictures. If you wish to acquire some of this precious collection before it goes on eBay, please send Loic an email loic@kitlinx.com

Business Updates

  • Spray Paints are considered "Aerosol" by shipping companies (FedEx/UPS/USPS). They have to travel "ground" to avoid flying in a de-pressurized cabin at 30,000 ft and potentially bursting (not sure if any airplanes have been brought down by a 3oz can, but it might have scared the crew... or colored neighboring luggage)

  • Paypal has new rules that it does NOT refund the "fees". If a CUSTOMER cancels an order, fees will NOT be refunded. If the cancellation comes from Kitlinx (due to unavailability of products or others), the money is credited back to the account, unless the customer specifically request a refund to the credit card or Paypal.

  • eBay is another venue offered to many modelers. Kitlinx uses it to discount some of its deepest overstock. We received a WARNING from one of our MAJOR DISTRIBUTOR: "Please avoid user name rakski at all costs... I’ve heard nothing but horror stories from my customers about this buyer, so NOW I’m relaying the message to you. This customer makes false claims and leaves negative feedback all the time for no reason..."

  • Please note that we have changed the payment terms for Customers shipping to Mexico. If you are shipping to Mexico, you can ONLY use Paypal. Paypal will protect the customer, but also the vendor. Kitlinx received a series of fraudulent transactions originating from this country.
